Full time, permanent
Location: London (hybrid)
Type: Full‑time
Reports to: Senior Account Executive / Account Manager
Salary: Circa £27-29,000 DOE
Start: ASAP
Why this role exists
SomX is a communications and creative agency for healthtech, biotech and pharma. We blend PR, content, design, events and media production to help innovators earn attention, build trust and grow. As an Account Executive (AE), you’ll support day‑to‑day delivery across multiple accounts—helping turn complex topics into simple, effective content and steady PR momentum. You’ll learn the craft and build the muscle memory that keeps integrated programmes moving.
What you’ll do
Organic content (core) – Draft and schedule LinkedIn posts, captions and simple carousels; build monthly calendars; coordinate basic design/video asks using studio templates; post and community‑manage (comments/DM triage) under guidance.
PR support (core) – Maintain media lists, research targets, draft pitch notes and media backgrounders, book interviews/briefings, and help with press materials (releases, Q&As, bios) for announcements and events.
In‑house brands – Contribute snippets, carousels and short clips for Healthtech Pigeon, The Healthtech Podcast and SomX Events; support scheduling and light copy, ensuring consistency with SomX tone.
Research & prep – Pull desk research (media landscapes, competitor mentions, policy timelines), build contact sheets, draft FAQs and meeting notes, and prep interviewer packs.
Asset coordination – Chase inputs and approvals, manage file naming/versioning, and keep folders tidy so assets are easy to find and reuse.
Analytics basics – Log coverage and post performance; capture simple insights (what hooks and formats worked) for monthly reports.
Meetings & ops – Keep trackers, agendas and actions tight; circulate notes and next steps; help with POs/timesheets and general project hygiene.
What you’ll bring
~1–2 years’ experience in PR/communications/marketing (agency or in‑house), or strong internships with portfolio examples.
Writing fundamentals – clear, concise copy; good headlines and hooks; careful fact‑checking and sourcing.
Organisation and follow‑through – reliable with details, deadlines and approvals; comfortable juggling multiple tasks.
Media curiosity – interest in how stories are shaped and what reporters want; willing to pick up the phone/email confidently.
Healthcare interest – curiosity about healthtech/biotech and regulated environments; comfortable learning the language.
Tools – G‑Suite, task boards; Canva (or similar) to adapt brand templates into on‑brand assets; familiarity with media/monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater/Roxhill/Muck Rack) a plus.
Nice to have
Degree or experience in life sciences, medicine, engineering, health policy or a related field.
Basic video or image editing skills for short social clips/thumbnails.
Experience supporting events or shoots (run‑of‑show, asset capture, on‑site coordination).
Awareness of ABPI/EFPIA or medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) basics.
How we work at SomX
Integrated by default – PR, content, design, events and media production in one team.
Outcomes over vanity metrics – We care about relevance, trust and commercial signals, not just volume.
9‑day fortnight – High‑trust, high‑performance culture with regular recharge days.
Hybrid – In‑person collaboration in London; on‑site support for client moments as needed.
What success looks like (first 6 months)
Fully onboarded across 4-6 client accounts: messaging houses, content pillars, calendars and approval workflows.
Reliable delivery of agreed outputs each month (LinkedIn posts/carousels, short clips, simple blog/newsletter copy, announcement packs) — on brief, on time, to quality.
Operational hygiene: clean trackers, agendas, notes, file structure and version control; accurate timesheets/POs.
Template execution: confident turning templates into on‑brand assets with minimal rework.
PR competence: accurate media lists, tidy briefing logistics and well‑structured pitch drafts under SAE/AM guidance.
Good judgement and comms: flags risks/blocks early, keeps stakeholders updated, and asks clear questions.
Growth path
AE → Senior Account Executive (typically 12–18 months, performance‑dependent)
Milestones: handle defined workstreams end‑to‑end, improve pitch hit‑rate, ship content autonomously, contribute to planning and light client comms.
What you’ll get
Competitive salary and performance‑based bonus scheme.
25 days’ holiday + UK public holidays + company recharge days.
Pension and enhanced family leave policies.
Personal development budget and access to industry events/training.
Quality kit and support from our in‑house creative studio.
