About the role

At SomX, we are storytellers,strategists, communicators and creatives shaping the future of healthcare and life sciences. We are looking for an Account Manager or Senior Account Manager with a passion for health innovation, a strong foundation in content-led communications, and a proven track record of managing integrated campaigns, including website projects.

You’ll be an integral part of our team, collaborating closely with clients at the forefront of healthtech and life sciences, while guiding and executing projects that inspire and educate audiences. You’re a natural content creator, whether through your own social media presence or for clients, and you know how to engage diverse audiences across platforms.

Core responsibilities

Client services

  • Act as the day-to-day lead for key client accounts, delivering exceptional service, creative ideas, and proactive solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic, multi-channel communications plans that support clients’ business objectives.
  • Craft engaging, accurate, and high-quality content for a range of channels, including websites, social media, and thought leadership.
  • Lead the delivery of digital projects, including websites, SEO strategies, and content hubs, ensuring timelines, budgets, and KPIs are met
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, healthcare innovations, and best practices in content.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that demonstrate a deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and client needs.

Content and digital expertise

  • Bring specialist expertise in content development across formats - blogs, articles, case studies, videos, infographics, and social media.
  • Manage value-led and audience-optimised content development, website build and refresh projects, and digital campaigns, working closely with internal teams and external partners as needed.
  • Advise clients on best practices for digital content, UX, and SEO to maximise engagement and impact.
  • Leverage your own experience as a content creator, demonstrating how personal brand-building aligns with client strategies.

Project management

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources across multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery against objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including design, digital, strategy, and development.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, ensuring expectations are managed and exceeded.

Business development

  • Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Contribute to new business proposals and pitches, offering ideas, content strategies, and digital solutions that address client challenges.

Team collaboration and leadership

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering growth and skills development.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive team culture that champions creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.

Essential skills and experience

  • Proven experience in healthcare, life sciences, or healthtech communications, ideally in an agency setting.
  • Deep expertise in content strategy and creation
  • Experience managing website builds, content hubs, and SEO projects end-to-end.
  • A strong personal presence online (e.g., LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Substack), with a track record of creating and sharing content.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Confident, proactive, and solutions-focused, with an ability to build strong client relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset, working well within teams and across disciplines.
  • Attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • A passion for innovation in healthcare, life sciences, and technology.

  • Understanding of UX and SEO best practice and demonstrable experience of execution
  • Hands on experience of creating video and graphic-led content using different design platforms
  • Line management of team members
  • Experience working with influencers either from the brand or influencer side of the table
  • Medical writing or even hands on clinical expertise
  • Previously led successful paid-media campaigns

Compensation and company benefits

  • Salary from £38,000-£50,000 depending on experience
  • Work from anywhere policy (basaed in the UK)
  • 9-day-fortnight - every other Friday off
  • Up to 30 days additional leave + bank holidays (including office close / light duties over Christmas / New Year period)
