Senior Account Executive (Healthtech & biotech) (PR & content)

We're looking for an enthusiastic SAE who wants to build a career in healthtech/biotech communications

Full time, permanent

Location: London (hybrid)
Type: Full‑time
Reports to: Account Manager / Account Director (PR)
Salary: Circa £30,000 DOE
Start: ASAP

Why this role exists

SomX is a communications and creative agency built for healthtech, biotech and pharma. We blend PR, strategy, content, design, events and media production to help innovators earn attention, build trust and grow. As a Senior Account Executive (SAE), you’ll be the engine room of integrated campaigns, turning complex clinical and technical topics into clear stories, keeping programmes moving and relationships warm, and stepping up to own defined workstreams across multiple accounts.

What you’ll do

Organic content and social (primary) – Own day‑to‑day organic content for client accounts (with a focus on LinkedIn). Build monthly calendars, draft posts/threads/carousels, brief simple design/video asks, schedule, post, and community‑manage (comments/DM triage), always aligned to the messaging house and quarterly plan.

Content strategy support – Turn business goals into channel plans: define audiences, themes, and formats across LinkedIn, YouTube, X/Twitter, blogs and newsletters; propose a proactive/reactive mix and a healthy cadence; feed ideas into the wider content engine and flag cross‑channel opportunities.

Multimedia coordination – Work with our studio to turn scripts and outlines into short video, audiograms, graphics and carousels. Prepare shoot packs, gather approvals, and ensure assets land on time and on brand.

Writing & editing – Draft crisp copy across social posts, captions, newsletter blurbs, basic landing copy and light thought‑leadership first drafts; edit for clarity, compliance and tone.

Analytics and optimisation – Track post‑level and account‑level performance; report learnings (format, hook, CTA, posting time, audience segments) and recommend experiments to improve reach, engagement and desired actions.

Executive visibility – Ghost‑write and schedule leadership LinkedIn posts; maintain founder/clinician profiles and content pillars; coordinate speaking abstracts, awards and light op‑eds under AM/AD guidance.

Press office and PR (alongside content) – Maintain media lists and relationships, research targets, draft and send pitches, book/prepare interviews, write press materials (releases, media notes, Q&As), support funding/product/partnership announcements, and help on event PR. Coordinate with AM/AD on angles and measurement (tier, message pull‑through, backlinks).

In‑house brands – Contribute content and scheduling for Healthtech Pigeon, The Healthtech Podcast, and SomX Events (snippets, carousels, reels, email blurbs), ensuring a consistent voice and useful cross‑promotion with client accounts.

Client service and ops – Keep actions and trackers tight; own timelines, agendas and follow‑ups; maintain approvals and light MLR basics where applicable; support budgeting/POs and accurate time logging.

Example outputs you’ll regularly ship

LinkedIn carousels and posts, short founder clips, simple blog/newsletter copy, event promo assets, announcement packs, monthly content reports, media pitch notes (as needed).

What success looks like (first 6 months)

Fully onboarded on 4-6 retained accounts: messaging houses, tone of voice, content pillars, calendars, and approval flows (incl. MLR where relevant).

Reliable delivery of agreed outputs each month (LinkedIn posts/carousels, short founder clips, blog/newsletter blurbs, announcement packs) — on brief, on time, and to quality.

Operational hygiene: watertight trackers, agendas and follow‑ups; correct file naming/versioning; accurate timesheets and POs.

Template execution: confident use of studio templates to turn briefs into on‑brand assets without rework.

PR support competence: accurate media lists, targeted pitch drafts, scheduled interviews/briefings, and clean press materials under AM/AD guidance.

Judgement and comms: you flag hooks, risks and opportunities to the AM/AD, keep stakeholders updated, and ask the right questions early.

Positive feedback from internal leads and clients on responsiveness, clarity and attention to detail.

Contribution to playbooks/templates with small improvements that make recurring tasks smoother.

Growth path

SAE → Account Manager (typically 12–24 months, performance‑dependent)
Milestones: own a full account workstream end‑to‑end, lead status meetings, manage junior AEs, shape angles, and contribute to planning and proposals.

What you’ll get

Competitive salary and performance‑based bonus scheme.

25 days’ holiday + UK public holidays + company recharge days.

9‑day‑fortnight working pattern (every other Friday off).

Pension and enhanced family leave policies.

Personal development budget; access to industry events and training.

Quality kit and the backing of our in‑house creative studio.

  1. Intro call (culture and capability)
  2. Short written/pitch exercise + team conversation
  3. Final interview with PR lead & leadership
  4. References and offer
